The ReMax Story...
Since the 1973 opening of the first ReMax real estate office in Denver, Colorado, with four sales agents..........the ReMax founders, brokers, and sales agents have grown the company to attain a premier market presence practically around the world. Currently, ReMax is active in 63 countries with over 6500 offices and now there are over 119,000 sales agents! Not only are you working with a top agent in the city of Columbus and the State of Ohio when you are working with Doug Burley.......but you are teaming with the largest ReMax office in both Columbus and the State of Ohio.
After struggling for a couple years the founder Dave Liniger ended 1977 with 480 agents and sold the first Canadian franchise in Calgary. In 1978 the hot air balloon became an official corporate logo after the ReMax balloon debuts at the Albuquerque Balloon Festival. Today ReMax has the largest corporate hot air balloon fleet and one of the most recognized logos in North America.
Growth continued....the excitement continued......on to 9,818 agents in 1985, number one ranking in Canada in 1988, a Caribbean office in 1991, Mexico in 1992, on-line with Compuserve in 1993, and Satellite Network in 1994 (the first service of its kind). In 1995 ReMax went global with new regions in South Africa, Spain, Israel, Italy, Greece and Germany and...... a home site on the World Wide Web. 1996 brought the ReMax North America Longest Drive Championship and the new Team ReMax Racing thus spreading the name through sports marketing. With over 45,000 agents in 1997 ReMax entered Australia (20th region), Singapore, Turkey, Northern Cyprus, United Kingdom, and Ireland.
In 1998, audited figures by Arthur Andersen of 1997 Sales Associates residential sales production show that ReMax associates were involved in more than one million transaction side, thus making ReMax the first real estate organization to ever pass that milestone. Translated into an advertising slogan, that achievement allowed ReMax to claim: "No one in the world sells more real estate than ReMax."
Since 1992 ReMax associates have raised over $67 million dollars sponsoring the Children's Miracle Network charity through donations and fund raisers. ReMax also sponsors the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
1999 - 2001 - now in Austria, Belize......68,426 sales agents. Unmatched growth. Unmatched strength. Unmatched excitement. Unmatched professionals.
