- The Greater Columbus Convention Center routinely hosts regional and national volleyball, wrestling and fencing tournaments and each March is the site of the nation's largest sports festival.
- Columbus Crew Stadium is home of the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer and was named the "Best Soccer Stadium" in U.S. Soccer's 2002 "Best Of" Series. The stadium has hosted many national and international events, including the Women's World Cup, Men's World Cup qualifiers, MLS All-Star Game and MLS Cup.
- Nationwide Arena is home of the National Hockey League's Columbus Blue Jackets. In February 2004, ESPN The Magazine named it the "Ultimate Arena" and the Columbus Blue Jackets earned top ranking under "Stadium Experience."
- Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein Center is home of The Ohio State University's men's and women's basketball teams and men's ice hockey team. In April 2005, it was the site of the NCAA Frozen Four, men's ice hockey's equivalent of the Final Four.
- Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium was built to host national and international track and field events. It is home of The Ohio State University men's and women's track and field teams, men's and women's soccer teams and men's and women's lacrosse teams.
- Other facilities in the Greater Columbus area include 12 ice hockey facilities; Ohio Stadium, home of The Ohio State University football team; Berliner Park, the largest softball complex in the world with 31 fields on one site; Bill Davis Stadium, home of The Ohio State University men's baseball team; National Trail Raceway, a drag-racing track that hosts National Hot Rod Association events.
